Title: Shoe Last Abstraction (working title)
Date: 1988,  according to Presentation Portfolio II entitled: NORMAN SUMNER GREEN
Subject: Abstraction
Measurements: 7 ½” W x 7 ¾” D x 14 ¾” H
Materials and Techniques: Wooden board, wooden shoe lasts, wooden sticks
Description: A rectangular wooden board serves as the base for this hanging piece. A wooden shoe last protrudes perpendicularly from the lower potion of the wooden board, its toe pointed toward the viewer. Above this, the mid-section of a wooden shoe last is attached upside-down to the top portion of the wooden board, giving the impression that the toe portion of the shoe last has been shoved through the surface of the wooden board. A cluster of thin, wooden sticks the size of spaghetti noodles extend from the bottom of the upper shoe last downward through the bottom of the lower shoe last. The tips of these sticks poke slightly through the bottom of the lower shoe last. Two other clusters of wooden sticks extend from the upper shoe last, one diagonally toward the viewer and one diagonally away from the viewer. Each of these sticks ends in a point.
