Materials and Techniques:  Patinated cast bronze from original wood forms, green felt over round, wood panel
Description: A green felt-covered wood panel provides the base for a figure depicted with its arms outstretched. A bronze patinated wooden cutting board represents the form’s torso. A fragment of its handle represents the neck. Two bronze patinated wooden shoe lasts flank the torso, the arch of each shoe last facing upwards, representing open arms. Two identical patinated bronze rounded forms with small holes have been drilled on either side of the round forms. These have been placed side by side on top of the neck, representing a face with eyes. Shoe tree lasts have been modified and inverted, installed on either side of the torso to depict outstretched arms.

Note: Exhibited at Camden Art Center, 1980. Also featured at both of Duncan Campbell’s exhibitions. Exhibited as #49 in 1994 and priced at 950 British pounds. Exhibited as #15 in 1996 and priced at 3,000 British pounds. Two editions of this piece are known to exist: one in bronze patinated wooden forms and one made from wooden forms, the original from which the bronze edition was modeled. The location of the original wooden piece is unknown.
