Description: A thin oval shaped sheet of metal serves as the base for this piece. A three-clawed metal form represents the legs on which this insect stands. A thin cylindrical wooden form is attached, its flat side facing forward, representing the insect’s face. Two small wooden pegs are attached to its surface, representing eyes. A long, narrow, pointed wooden form is attached, reaching downward past its face, representing its stinger. Two metal knife blades project upwards from the insect’s head, representing antennas. Two identical wooden forms each flank the insect’s sides, representing wings.
Note: Exhibited as #56 “Pique” at Duncan Campbell’s gallery in 1996. Cost: 1,400 British pounds.
