Description: An elaborate urban scene is comprised inside of a shallow wooden box placed horizontally and on its side. The background is painted white to represent snow. Wooden forms are attached to the background and windows and doors are painted onto their surface to represent buildings in the distance. A red brick wall and red brick smoke stacks are represented with red paint. Black and white paint represents smoke as it pours through the smoke stacks into the sky. A cutout of a Christmas tree is placed in the center of the background, and cutouts of an Evergreen tree and a dog are placed on the right side of the background. In the foreground, wooden clothing pins represent people. Some appear to be walking, others standing and talking, while one is seated on a wooden bench. On the right, a group of children are holding red and white balloons, represented by small plastic balls supported by wooden sticks. Two wooden forms shaped like large mushrooms appear on the left side of this scene. The cutout of an eagle is placed on top of the mushroom form on the right. The left wall of the box is painted black to represent an apartment building. Silver paint represents windows on the second and third floor and a rectangular wooden form with a metal knob represents a door on the first floor. A cutout of a man’s face is placed in the upper window to represent a man who is peering through the window. The number 10 appears on the door in black paint. People appear to be standing together near the door and one person is standing directly in front of the door.
