A small painted black rectangular wooden form is attached to the surface of the base, extending toward the viewer. The wooden form on the left is a vertical, rectangular, painted black form with an arched surface. The central wooden form is a natural wood color and round in shape, with concentrically round wooden forms projecting from its center. The wooden form on the right closely resembles the central wooden form, but is much larger in size and painted black.<br />

<strong>Description: </strong>A variety of wooden forms are assembled to represent a man. His head is a vertically oriented, rectangular wooden shape with rounded edges. A rectangular wooden block painted black intersects his head, representing his hair. His facial features are depicted with different wooden shapes: two pegs represent his eyes and half-ring shapes attached to the sides of his head in front of his hair represent his ears. A wooden form painted black in the shape of a quarter circle represents his protruding nose and a curved piece of wood represents his smiling mouth. His neck is represented by a long cylindrical shape attached to another larger, cylindrical shape with an expanded rim at each end, representing his torso. Two long rectangular shapes with rounded edges extend from the top of his torso along the sides of his body, representing his arms. A cylindrical shape at the end of each arm represents each of his hands. His legs, represented by two cylindrical shapes, extend vertically from his torso, so that he appears in a standing position. Wide, shallow cylindrical shapes of slightly different heights support each of his legs representing his feet. His phallus is represented with a small cylindrical shape that extends vertically from his torso and between his legs. A pointed shape painted pink is attached to its tip.<br />

<strong>Description: </strong>A variety of pieces of wood are assembled within the frame of a vertical wooden tray, representing a face. The tray has two cutouts for handles located on the two shorter edges. A series of thin pieces of wood divide the tray, or face, into three rectangular registers. Within the upper left register is a square wooden shape that has a round shape cut out of its center, representing his eye. Above his eye is a half circle wooden shape painted black, representing his eyebrow. The same shapes are present in the upper right register of the box, representing his other eye and eyebrow. The central register, in the shape of an upside-down “T” contains the man’s nose and mouth. A large wooden rectangular shape occupies the leg of the upside-down “T.” The mouth is located in the crossing of the “T.” A half-doughnut wooden shape forms the smiling mouth. The bowl of a wooden spoon that is painted red projects from the interior of the arch, with the bowl facing downward, representing a tongue that is sticking out of his smiling mouth. Two wooden half-discs painted black attach to the outer walls of the box at the same level as the eyes, representing ears.<br />

<strong>Description: </strong>A variety of curved wooden forms represent a chief&#8217;s face in profile. The basic structure of the face is formed from one large wooden shape. Additional wooden forms are attached, representing the chief’s ears, nose, and forehead. A painted black, curved wooden form ending in a point represents his tongue. It protrudes outward from a recess in the main piece of wood that represents his mouth. A white rope represents the chief’s hair. The top of the rope is knotted, and attached at the knot to a small wooden cube on the chief’s head until it reaches his ear. The rope is attached along the profile of the chief’s head. The remaining rope is unbraided, and dangles from the back of his head to the base of the piece. The base is a cylindrical wooden form.<br />

The arch of the top of his head as well as his arms and legs are represented by toy wooden train track parts. Two small wooden pegs represent his eyes and a wooden cone sliced in half vertically represents his nose. Two wooden shoe lasts project from the frame, representing his feet. They are attached to the wooden frame on hinges, allowing them to move vertically.<br />

Attached to its surface are two carved, rounded, wooden forms with red-dyed wooden forms attached to each, representing her breasts. Two identical arched forms are attached to either side of her body, representing her arms. A round wooden form is attached off-center to the top of her torso, representing her tilted head. A variety of forms compose her facial features. Two ring-shaped wooden forms represent her eyes, attached below two arched forms representing her eyebrows. <strong>Description:</strong> A cylindrical wooden form stained black serves as the base for this image of a girl in a standing position. Five long, thin wooden forms comprise the body. Two forms represent legs, one represents the torso and neck, and two represent arms. All five pieces are placed vertically. A round wooden form representing the head is placed atop the wooden form representing the torso and neck.<br />
<strong>Signed: </strong>“NSG” etched on side of base and “NSG 86” etched on top of base<br />
<strong>Note: </strong>Exhibited as #34 “Kate” at Duncan Campbell’s gallery in 1994. Cost: 1,500 British pounds.</p>

The rounded segment of each handle wraps around a donut-shaped wooden form, representing eyes. Together, the stick portions of the handles outline the nose. Below, two horizontal, arched wooden forms face each other, representing parted lips.<br />
