Subject: The crucified Christ
Measurements: 12 ¾” W x 4” D x 21 ¼” H
Materials and Techniques: Wooden forms, black glossy paint, metal stakes
Description: Christ’s crucifixion is represented by a variety of assembled wooden forms. A tall, thick rectangular wooden board serves as the background for this hanging piece. Wooden forms outline Christ’s body and head. The space outlined by these forms is painted a glossy black. A curved wooden form surrounds the top of Christ’s head, representing his halo. Metal stakes are nailed into Christ’s hands and feet, representing the nails of the crucifixion.

Note: Exhibited at Camden Art Centre, 1980. Also exhibited as #19 “Crucifix” at Duncan Campbell’s gallery in 1996. Cost: 750 British pounds.
