Materials and Techniques: Wooden forms, brown felt, red and white paint
Description: A hollow, wooden cylinder is painted glossy red with white lines, in the pattern of a brick well. A wooden form shaped like a rounded cone with a handle projects from inside of the well. The top of the form that is shaped like a rounded cone is articulated with smaller wooden forms to represent a man’s face. Two round forms represent eyes, a triangular wooden form represents a nose, and a half ring shape represents his smiling mouth. Two other wooden forms shaped like half rings are attached to the sides of his head, representing ears. On his head rests a brown felt cap. Wooden forms that represent his arms and hands extend from the upper handle portion of his body and rest on the rim of the well.
