Description: A wooden birdcage encases the forms of three birds poking their heads through the openings of the cage. Each bird is represented with a wooden shoe last; the foot-form portion represents the beak and the handle represents the neck. Two of the birds have an additional toe-portion of a shoe last attached, representing their bodies. The floor of the birdcage is lined with a woven basket fiber that creates a black and white checkered pattern. A wooden bracket frames the floor of the birdcage.
