Description: A rectangular wooden board wrapped in green felt serves as the base for this wall-hanging piece. Attached are a variety of wooden forms that represent the rear profile of a man riding a horse. A wooden kitchen utensil’s handle and rectangular surface represents Pancho’s head and torso. A thin strand of wicker is attached horizontally near the top of his head, representing the rim of his hat. Four identical curved wooden forms are attached to his body, representing his arms at his sides, and his legs which flank the horse’s body. Two curved wooden forms represent the horse’s behind and legs. Attached is a cluster of hair, representing the horse’s tail. A skewer is held in Poncho’s right hand and pointed upwards, representing his sword. Coiled wood shavings are placed to the right of the horse, representing its droppings.
