Description: Originally three individual segments of pieces that were discovered in the same box, this final product is an interpretation of how this piece may have originally looked. A large cylindrical form serves as the base for this piece. Attached is a human form in a seated position with arms that assist the legs into an extended position with toes pointed upwards. The head is represented by a round, wooden form with a thin cylindrical stick extending from it, representing the person’s back. Identical wooden forms with ridges etched onto one side of them represent the arms and legs. Another, larger-scaled human form stands over this form. Long wooden forms identical to those of the arms and legs of the seated person represent the legs of this human form. A flat, circular wooden form is attached to the intersection of these two legs, representing his face. A triangular wooden form projects from the surface of the face, representing his nose, rounded wooden forms with crescent-shaped wooden forms above them represent his eyes and eyebrows, and a curved wooden form represents his smiling mouth.
