Measurements: 11 3/8” W x 5 7/8” D x 17 1/16” H
Materials and Techniques: Wooden forms
Description: Attached to an oval-shaped dark wooden base are the profiles of a standing man and woman who are facing one another in a loving embrace. Their profiles are made from identical wooden forms that reflect and complement one another in a mirror image. The tops of the wooden forms are carved in a way that the two figures’ heads appear to be bent toward one another. The middle, rounded section of the wooden pieces touch, conveying that the man and woman’s bellies are touching. Two arched, half-circular wooden shapes emerge from each of the figures’ torsos representing arms that extend to touch the others’ waist in a loving embrace. A small, wooden peg emerges below the belly of the figure on the left, representing a phallus.
