Date: Before “Dec 1988”
Subject: Male figure playing violin.
Measurements: Unknown
Materials and Techniques: Glove inserts, animal horn, paper cutout, paper musical score, red paint, assorted wooden forms, various cut outs
Description: Assorted wooden frames are assembled to form a violinist. His lower half is shaped from a triangular shape that juts out far to the right. A wooden arch is attached midway up the triangle. A protruding turn-handle is attached on the triangle above the arch. The musician’s torso is represented with a red triangle. His two arms look to be made of paper cut outs of five fingers attached to hollow rectangles. These paper arms hold a cut out photograph of a violin, held under his chin as if to play. A light wooden rectangle forms the player’s head, which is capped with a dome-shaped cut out from a page of sheet music. His face is detailed with three black circles: two eyes and a mouth.
