Description: This piece shows two similarly-scaled figures engrossed in conversation. An unidentified female figure sits on Van Gogh’s yellow chair (Van Gogh’s chair, 1888, Vincent can Gogh, Dutch, Zundert 1853-1890 Auvers-sur-Oise, The National Gallery). She wears only a small white cloth around her waist, and crosses her left leg atop her left. Her arms are braced behind her head. The unidentified male figure stands on his right leg, his left leg bent forward, foot resting on the bottom run of her chair. He’s leaned over his left leg, towards her, with his left elbow resting on his knee. The two figures are aligned as if making eye contact.
