Materials and Techniques: Wooden board, wooden painter’s palette, glass domed forms, small wooden forms, small metal forms
Description: A large wooden painter’s palette is mounted onto a vertical wooden board with wooden forms in between the two surfaces, as to raise the palette away from the board. Attached to the surface of the palette are five glass-domed forms that are each filled with a collection of various small wooden forms and a small number of metal forms. These form-filled glass domes represent the medium of Norman’s artwork displayed on his palette.
Signed: “NSG” etched onto right side of front. “NSG” written in marker on back.
Note: Exhibited as #37 “Assemblage Palette” at Duncan Campbell’s gallery in 1996. Cost: 1,200 British pounds.
