Projecting forward toward the front of the box and extending slightly over its edge is a wooden shoe last that represents the peacock’s face. Two small wooden pegs are attached to the shoe last, representing eyes. A round, gold painted wooden form is attached to its forehead. Below the peacock’s body, pointed wooden forms painted gold are attached, representing the peacock’s feet. Covering the majority of the back wall of the box is a curvaceous design with colored glossy paper as well as two curved wooden forms painted gold. Backed with foam, these waves of red, yellow, turquoise, blue, green, and gold represent the peacock’s colorful flowing feathers.
