Food Chain 1

Title: Food Chain (working title)
Date: 1986
Subject: Fish eating fish
Measurements: 19 ¼’ W x ¾” D x 6 ½” H
Materials and Techniques: Wooden forms
Description: A rectangular wooden board serves as the base for this hanging piece. Wooden curves are attached to the board’s surface in the outline of a fish’s profile. A large, round wooden peg represents the fish’s eye. Two small, carved decorative wooden fish with a glossy sheen are also attached to the board. One is placed inside of the large fish’s body, indicating that the large fish just swallowed it. The second small fish swims directly in front of the large fish’s slightly open mouth, implying that it will soon meet the same fate.
Signed: “NSG 86” etched onto front lower left corner. “Norman S. Green” written in marker on back.
