Materials and Techniques: Hat last, Italian glass mosaic tiles, wood form
Description: This hanging piece is mounted onto a flat, round wooden disc. A wooden hat last in the shape of a cone extends outward from this base with its point projecting towards the viewer. The wider area of the cone represents the boar’s head, which narrows to a tip, representing the boar’s snout. Two blue Italian glass mosaic tiles represent eyes. Two clusters of these tiles form triangular shapes on the base of this piece where the base meets the hat last, representing the boar’s ears.
