Materials and Techniques: Wooden forms, wooden wine box, wood trim
Description: A partial wine crate holds the abstracted form of a man. One side of the crate has been removed to allow the man’s form to extend beyond the confines of the box. A disc of wood represents his torso. His legs, represented by two identical thin, rectangular blocks of wood, project perpendicularly from his torso, so that he appears seated. Two long pieces of wooden trim project upward at a slight angle away from his head, representing raised arms. His head, located between these two planks, is represented by a square piece of wood with rounded bottom corners. While the man appears to be sitting in the box, his body is attached to the back of the box and does not actually touch the bottom. He appears to float within the box.
