Brown glossy paper is adhered to the lower, wider portion of the pin, representing a skirt with vertical brown stripes. Cutouts of a woman’s face, neck, and necklace from a painting (Unidentified, Amedeo Modigliani, Italian, Livorno 1884-1920, Paris) are attached to the surface of the upper register of the pin, representing her head and neck. Attached on either sides of her body are two identical wooden curves representing her arms, akimbo. In her left hand she holds a metal chain, representing a leash that is attached to a variety of wooden forms that represent a cat, standing at her side. Small brown leather folded triangles represent the cat’s pointed ears while hair bristles represent the cat’s whiskers.
