Description:  A vertical, rectangular panel of wood stained dark-brown with an oval cutout frames this image of a desert scene. The image of a cactus occupies the center of this scene and is represented by a long, thin rectangular piece of black-painted wood with rounded edges. This rectangular piece of wood extends from the base of the frame to its top. The cactus’ arms are represented by two small curved pieces of black-painted wood that extend from both sides of the upper portion of the cactus’ trunk. The ground of this scene is connoted by a long, thin rectangular wooden form with a black stain and rounded edges. It runs horizontally along the bottom edge of the rectangular panel and has two black-stained, round wood pegs attached to it, representing desert fauna. Representing additional fauna are five round natural wood shapes that are stacked one on top of the other. They are placed along the edge of the right hand side of the panel and extend from the ground to the midpoint of the panel. Behind the upper register of the cactus is wooden ring, which represents the desert sun and frames the upper register of the cactus.
